Looks like most of the UK motoring press have had a trip to VW HQ in the UK to test drive the ID. Buzz and we now have a few reviews coming in.

I'll round up what I can find here:

Driving Electirc:

During our time with the ID. Buzz Cargo, its trip computer was showing a range of 180 miles with 77% charge remaining, meaning 240-260 miles should be achievable in normal driving; indeed, with a lighter right foot and warmer ambient temperatures, getting close to 300 miles isn’t outside the realms of possibility.

Overall then, the new Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo builds on what we like about VW’s existing electric hatchback and SUV models, wrapping the MEB platform in a practical and stylish Microbus-inspired body. If Volkswagen can get the numbers right, this could be the first electric van people will buy not just because it’ll save them money, but also because it offers a competitive range, space, charging speed – and so much more.

Auto Car:

We will have to wait to give real detail on what it’s like to drive and be in and how clever its various cargo- and people-carrying capacities are, because Volkswagen allowed us only one chaperoned hour in a commercial version and disguised most of its interior. The headline impressions, though, are promising.

Top Gear:

VW says that it’ll cost about the same as the Caravelle, which means a start point up beyond £50,000, so you’re potentially looking at £60k for a nicely specced family Buzz. But that’s where most SUVs are these days, let alone electric versions such as the Audi e-tron and Mercedes EQC, and historically VW vans have been far more depreciation proof.

Beyond the financials, doesn’t this look like a brighter, cleverer solution for the future? I’ve said this before, but could the ID Buzz signal the start of the SUV's demise? Could it kick start an automotive revolution in the same way as the original Renault Espace? It’s less pretentious, less aggressive and better at delivering the greatest luxury you can have in a family car – space. The electric age needs a new shape, a new style and here it is.

Auto Express:

The Volkswagen ID.Buzz feels like one of the first pure-electric vans people will want to buy not just because it will save them money, but because it’ll be easy to live with. We expect a long range, fast charging, impressive performance and decent versatility. Its design will undoubtedly win a few hearts too.
